A Time for Reflection

Author: Guy Micholic

1 Corinthians 2: [9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

There are times in life when I just have to take my focus off of the things of this world and stop long enough to absorb the Love that God always has there waiting for me. Patience is a virtue that I don’t possess, but it is bestowed upon me by my loving Father. I must reach out for it, let go of the stresses and pressures of this world that seek to entangle me.

Mark 4: [19] And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

It’s time for a change, a change in the way I see the world around me. In humble reflection, I ask the Savior to remove the blinders that have trained my eyes to only look at the ugliness of the world. Suddenly the beauty of creation overwhelms me. All of the blessing that have been placed before me rise above the mire of dark and unseemly forces that keep me stuck in a quagmire of despair. Gently he speaks to my heart with words that stagger my own thoughts. “My love for you has no bounds”.

Romans 8: [28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Once again the Lord has taken what was meant for bad in my life and turned it for good. Everything I hear, see and feel, all of the entanglements of trial and tribulation, all of the fiery arrows sent flying in my direction, fall still on the ground. I stand in awe, shaken by the unlimited power of the great Yeshua, Son of the Living God!

Deuteronomy 11: [26] Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; [27] A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

As I reflect on his love for me, barely able to take it in, He reminds me that my life and the sum total of all I experience has a purpose. What purpose I ask. He gently responds, “All will be revealed in time”. For now, I must simply trust that He is in control and know that the darkness of the world does have a purpose, ultimately it will be turned for good by his perfect will.

Romans 12: [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

My vigor has been renewed and I can now move forward with greater understanding. I realize that it’s not just about me. My Father in Heaven has a much greater plan that includes all of those who love him. Excitement takes hold within me, knowing that the darkness of this world will serve its purpose and in a tangible way, benefit the Children of God!
