Daniel’s 70 weeks (69 weeks fulfilled at the coming of the Messiah as specified)…..

There are some commentators (some of whom I very, very much respect and have no intent to dishonor their view) who believe the entirety of the Daniel prophecy (Daniel’s 70 weeks) was fulfilled in 70 A.D..

There are TWO predominate views with regards to Daniel 9:27 (whether fulfilled already in the past -or- yet to come in the future).

The Passage reads:

Just for precise accuracy, I think it is important we begin with the last half of scripture (Daniel 9:26) — Just as when Jesus stands in temple before the scribes and Pharisees and reads this from Isaiah:

Luke 4:17-20: And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, 18“THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, 19 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.…20 These things have been fulfilled before your sight.” And then He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.…”

Jesus is quoting from the scroll of Isaiah (specifically Isaiah 61:1-2)…… He stopped reading at a comma —> Had He read one sentence further, this is what it said —–>

……And the day of the judgment and vengeance of our God.

Commas and precision are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT when dealing with the Biblical texts. And, Commas can separate THOUSANDS of YEARS from the lens of God’s view.

Without further ado, we now look at Daniel with this in mind.

Last half of Daniel 9:26 —> “The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end (Notes: End of what? In Matthew 24 where Jesus Himself points to this passage, Jesus is specifically being asked about the “End of the Age” in that context) , and desolations have been decreed.” Daniel 9:26

Daniel 9:27 “And he (Note: Who is the word “he” referring to? Your decision on that truly decides the context of the passage and the prophecy. My belief is Daniel is referring to the future Antichrist because of the context of what this “he” does as the scripture continues) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (weeks are years in this context as is specified in Daniel): and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate (often called the “abomination of desolation”), even until the consummation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”
 Daniel 9:27

This passage to many — myself included — is pointing toward a future event, the most covered “7 year” time period in the entire Bible (including in Revelation)….. The middle of which (3 1/2 year mark) starts what is commonly called “the Great Tribulation” at the very point of an event called the “Abomination of Desolation” done by the Antichrist in the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem.

Daniel Articles Coming Soon on the Precision Prophecies of World History, Antichrist and Messiah.

I would like to make a case in these Prophecy’s of Daniel articles, that not only did Daniel prophecy and predict tit-for-tat, line-for-line, 400 years worth of coming history (the so-called “silent years”) in Chapter 11 (in perfect & precision order and glorious detail, no-less)…… And, those line-by-line prophecies will be covered in a future Daniel journal, with HD illustrations for each precision event Daniel is prophesying……

But, further, for your consideration…. I would like to make a case in these articles — and I believe an extremely, extremely strong one — that the final week of Daniel’s 70 weeks has by NO means past….. It is yet to come….. It is a future 7 year time-slot…… It is the “End of the Age” referred to by Jesus Christ Himself in Mathew 24 when pointing towards this very set of prophecies…… Daniel is referring to the final 7 years….. the most covered time-period in the entire Bible….. The short hours and rise of the Antichrist  as seen through the lens of Israel, spoken by the Prophet Daniel….. after interrupted by the Angel Gabriel whilst praying in the heart of Babylon during the time of Israel’s expulsion from the land by God Himself…… often called: the time-period of the “Babylonian captivity.”

Daniel: Daniel 9:25-26

Daniel: Daniel 9:25-26

 Quoting Jesus Christ:

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place: whosoever readeth, let him understand.” Matthew 24:15

Since Jesus prophesied the destruction of the 2nd Temple in 70 A.D. (also covered in the prophecy of Daniel we shall see beneath)…… This “abomination of desolation” (a term referring to the raising of an idol in the Temple of Jerusalem as was done by Antiochus IV Epiphanes in the mid-2nd century BC. Specifically, he set up an altar to Zeus which caused the Maccabean Revolt in 167-160 B.C.)…… We know that — since Jesus prophesied the destruction of the 2nd Temple…… This abomination of desolation (which we know the meaning of as per the Maccabean Revolt 160+ years before Jesus) must be pointing to a future event.

Daniel 9: 25-26

Daniel: These two passages beneath are often called “the most Amazing Prophecies in the Bible.” I agree they are amazing. But, the truth is, the bulk of the Old Testament is prophecy (roughly 2000 precise prophecies about world history have been fulfilled verbatim the text thus far) — many of them in astounding, unlikely and unusual ways. From my view, they are all amazing…..

It is history written in advance…..

There are more than 300 prophecies specifically about Jesus Christ (not including the patterns of prophecy which all point to Jesus). Beneath are two of the most astounding Mathematical Prophecies predicting the coming and public crucifixion of Jesus from the Book of Daniel.

Daniel 9:25

“Know and understand this: From the time of the going forth of the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the Messiah, the King, comes, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times.”

Here is the break-down of that seemingly simple verse of prophecy:

Daniel 9:25

“Know and understand this: From the time of the going forth of the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem (this was the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus on March 14, 445 B.C. to restore and rebuild Jerusalem) —UNTIL– the Anointed One, the Messiah, the King, comes, shall be seven (7) weeks (weeks are specified as years in this context), and threescore (threescore is an old term that means 20 x 3 = 60 <—- It means 60) and two (2) weeks (so this is specifically a total of 69 years): the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times (they were indeed troublesome times).”

Interpretation:

Daniel is prophesying that beginning at the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus on March 14, 445 B.C ~UNTIL~ Jesus rides the donkey into the front gate of Jerusalem, on April 6, 32 A.D. (this was very unusual  date as this was the ONLY time He — Jesus — ever allowed the people to praise Him out and declare Him as King, though the people and the crowds  tried many, many times prior to this —- In-fact, many times Jesus specifically stopped such attempts to proclaim Him as King by actually saying, “It’s not my time yet.”). That moment, that mathematically specific day He rode the donkey as prophesied in Zacheria 9:9, was not only prophesied by Daniel more than 500 years beforehand, but is unarguably (by all serious scholars) the precise end of “Daniel’s 69 weeks of years”.

Then, Daniel 9:26

Daniel 9:26 “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be “cut off” (Note: In Hebrew “Karat”, or alternatively “Karath” <—- means “cut-off” and/or “publicly executed”), but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.

Daniel 9:26

Daniel 9:26

Interpretation:

Daniel 9:26 “And after threescore (60) and two (2) weeks shall Messiah be “cut off” (Note: In Hebrew “Karat”, or alternatively “Karath” <—- means “cut-off” and/or “publicly executed”), but not for himself (Note: If the Messiah is not being publicly executed for Himself, then who is He being executed for? Answer: You and I) : and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary

Note: These are events — as specified — which come following the first 69 weeks from Daniel 9:25  <—- which was Jesus riding into Jerusalem as King (as specified in the text). So, in this set — Daniel 9:26 — we have the Messiah “cut-off” (crucified) — then, the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem <—– which did also precisely occur. It was all torn to shreds and the bricks of the temple leveled by the Roman hoards under Prince Titus Vespasian in 70 A.D..
