January 15, 2020: President Vladimir Putin has announced sweeping, proposed changes to the Russian Constitution. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and the entire government resigned today.
The resignation of the government is not a protest of Putin. The resignation of the Russian government is a move that will allow Putin to make the necessary changes.
Note the comments made by resigning Prime Minister Medvedev. Changes to the constitution would include the following areas.
“…entire balance of power, the power of the executive, the power of the legislature, the power of the judiciary. In this context, it is obvious that, as the government, we must provide the president with a capability to make all decisions.” -Resigning Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev
Putin made the following comments during his yearly talk to parliament, The State of the Nation Address.
“I consider it necessary to conduct a vote by the country’s citizens on an entire package of proposed amendments to the country’s constitution. It will increase the role of parliament and parliamentary parties, powers and independence of the prime minister and all cabinet members. We will be able to build a strong prosperous Russia only on the basis of respect for public opinion. Together we will certainly change life for the better. Russia must remain a strong presidential republic.” -Russian President Vladimir Putin
The Russian president’s current term ends in 2024. Many think Putin is making a move to extend his power to the role of Prime Minister where he is likely to land after his current presidential term expires. Currently, Putin is 67 years old.

Ezekiel 38:2 “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him…”
The prophecies in Ezekiel 38-39 were written approximately 2,500 years ago from today in the early 21st century.
Clearly, Vladimir Putin thinks he is in absolute charge and in absolute control in Russia. Who knows if Putin is the character Ezekiel names as Gog of Magog. One thing is for sure. Today’s actions were a very Gog-esque move.
Despite the authority and power exerted today in Moscow, God is ultimately in control.
Ezekiel 39:1-5 And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. And I will turn you about and drive you forward, and bring you up from the uttermost parts of the north, and lead you against the mountains of Israel. Then I will strike your bow from your left hand, and will make your arrows drop out of your right hand. You shall fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your hordes and the peoples who are with you. I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. You shall fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD. I will send fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coast lands, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
