Russia Responds to Obama Sanctions

Author: Zebulon Rogers

President Barack Obama has issued a number of new sanctions against Russian intelligence officials and organizations today as well as ordering the expulsion of 35 suspected Russian spies, stoking the growing ire of President Vladimir Putin and widening the rift between the two superpowers. In an executive order signed on Wednesday, Obama declared the alleged election rigging a “national emergency.”

Kremlin press-secretary Dmitry Peskov called the sanctions “unjustified and illegal under international law.”

“In our point of view such actions of the US current administration are a manifestation of an unpredictable and even aggressive foreign policy,” Peskov said in a recent report on RT.com. “We regret the fact that this decision was taken by the US and President Obama personally.”

Not one to flee a conflict, Russia has stated they are in the process of formulating an adequate response. The Hill quotes Peskov as saying ‘“For now I cannot say what will be our response. Although, as we know, we have no other alternative than to abide by a principle of reciprocity. Naturally, we will issue an adequate response. This response will be formulated by the president of the Russian Federation,” Peskov said, according to Ria News.’

This series of events also shines a light on the cracks in U.S. intelligence, spotlighting possible abuses of power in the FBI and CIA to purposely cripple foreign relations for incoming President Donald Trump. They even went so far as to deny Congress a full briefing on the matter, instead leaking information to mainstream sources and limiting intel to select individuals. Representative Ron Johnson expressed his disgust in a December 16th report from Reuters, saying “It is disappointing that the CIA would provide information on this issue to the Washington Post and NBC but will not provide information to elected members of Congress.”

What does all this mean for the safety of the United States? 2016 has been a year of fulfilled prophecy, most notably the Donald Trump presidency, yet there is a looming shadow of what is yet to come hanging over the nation. Namely, Henry Gruver’s prophecy of a Russian attack on American soil, and the prophetic message of hope amidst disaster in New York from Michelle and Jordan Cook, expressed through the latter’s trilogy of paintings.

This is just the latest in a sequence of monumental aggression from the Obama administration, particularly against Israel, and furthermore against Putin. Now is the time to pray God’s mercy falls over the nation, and to take heart, for God is near.
