Be Free and Slumber No More

I remember a conversation I had with my dad a few years ago, where I asked a question that was weighing heavy on my heart.  I had recently been reading the book of Genesis.  I picked up on a few subtle nuances within the overall tone of the book of Genesis that set off some red flags within my center that troubled me.  The question I asked was “Pops do you believe that throughout the creation story and other elements of the old testament there is a convoluted aspect to the distinction between GOD and lesser gods, especially as pertains to the creation of man.”  In perfect, and almost predictable fashion, pops dodged the direct answer yet gave validity to the question by answering, “Now son, I would have to write an extensive exposé to answer that question.”  Nevertheless, I have spent much time over the past few years contemplating this issue.  The quick answer is there is nothing that exists outside of HIM, and even if some lesser deity had a hand in the creation of man’s current state, that entity at some point stemmed from the Root that is the fullness of the LORD GOD and thus falls well within His creation.  That statement clarifies and sets right in my center the knowledge of some discrepancies found within the dogma I was raised to believe but didn’t give me peace.  Within those discrepancies which, I will explain in length before the end of this arrangement, they helped to bring into focus a paradigm in which I understand that the physical body that I animate at present time is not of the original design of man spoken by the LORD GOD.  It is a crude representation of the original and intended to blind me from Truth.  It is a vein show that is really the reverse of what the original blueprint called for.  However, as the LORD GOD’s nature is, HE uses a situation of ill intent for good, which I intend to explain by the end of this writing as well.  First off, I want to give some Scripture that will set the tone for the basis of my above statements.  I am going to do this in an interactive way to try and show the study technique that I use to unfold the Scripture.  When going in depth and really digging for Truth I always dissect the Word with the Strong’s Concordance.  This is imperative for anyone that uses English as the language of study because compared to the language that the original texts were written, English is a shallow language at best.  The structure I am going to use to do this is that the main Scripture with be bold and when I get to a word of importance that needs an in-depth explanation of the original word used in the Hebrew I will put those additions as footnotes[like this] and list them below the scripture corresponding to the numbers and italicize them for clarity.

Gen 1:26  And God[1] said, Let us make man in our image[3] , after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

  1. H430 — ‘ĕlôhı̂ym – el-o-heem’ Plural of H433[2] (el-o’-ah) ; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: – angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.
  2.  H430 — ‘ĕlôahh    ‘ĕlôahh – el-o’-ah, el-o’-ah (The second form is rare); probably prolonged (emphatically) from H410; a deity or the deity: – God, god. See H430.
  3.  H6754 — tselem, tseh’-lem From an unused root meaning to shade; a phantom, that is, (figuratively) illusion, resemblance; hence a representative figure, especially an idol: – image, vain shew.

As we can see in the above breakdown there are a few words that give me concern here.  The word (god) that is used here implies a plurality to the activists.  This is also reiterated with the word (us).  I have heard arguments that this is referring to the trinity but that is not what my spirit senses.  Also, the word (image) is translated from the word (tselem) that basically means illusion.  This became perplexing to me when I got to Gen2:4 where something is different.

Gen 2:4  These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD[A] God made the earth and the heavens,

  1. H3068 — yehôvâh – yeh-ho-vaw’ From H1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: – Jehovah, the Lord. Compare H3050[B], H3069.
  2. H3050 — yâhh – yaw – Contracted for H3068, and meaning the same; Jah, the sacred name: – Jah, the Lord, most vehement. Cp. names in “-iah,” “-jah.”

In this passage the capitalized word (LORD) is strangely inserted before the word (elohiym) as if to distinguish this account of actions from the account of actions of Gen1.  Another observation of note is the fact that in Gen1 gods create the (heavens and the earth) but in Gen2:4 it says (earth and the heavens) almost as if a clue was left that these two accounts are different possibly opposite, we will bring this up again momentarily.  Under the same premise of the Strong’s definitions let us examine further the scriptures of Gen2 as pertains to the creation of man.

Gen 2:7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

It seems that Gen2 gives an account of the LORD God creating man from the dust of the earth and Gen1 gives an account of gods creating man in their own image, vein show, or illusion.  Then I asked the question, if this is the case then why is the carbon copy account listed first?  The answer seems to be in the following scriptures.

Isa 14:13  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Isa 14:14  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Isa 29:15  Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

Isa 29:16  Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

One thing that has to be understood is that the written word is part of this realm of matter and that makes it subject to the rule of darkness.  Some will bring up the inerrancy of God’s Word and to that I would agree, but the inerrant Word of the LORD God is not written on parchment but on the hearts of men by the Spirit Himself.  It is a perfect mechanism of delivery that is not subject to interpretation or manipulation.  It is the times that I read the scripture and feel that nudge that some preconceived idea is swaying me away from the Truth I am seeking that I set back and take notice.  It is then that I try very hard to remove my cognitive dissidence from the equation and attempt to listen to the Great Teacher Himself regardless of where He takes me.  It brings into focus the fallen state we are all born into, a state that is an illusion once the variables of the eternal realms are factored in.  It is not all gloom and doom though. There is a provision that is made for the ones that seek Him out but the Truth is there is battle raging for the soul.  Genesis also speaks of the enmity that is inherently within us as the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent fight for control of our muses.  We have all felt it, that raging battle that exists ever so prominently in the recesses of our consciousness.  The rest of this arrangement is going to be geared more towards the breaking of strongholds and destroying the hidden position that our enemy crouches in and launches his endless ambushes and attacks against our spirits and consciousness that takes place in an age-old war of the soul that happens during this mortal coil we are moving through.   Let’s first examine the phrase mortal coil which was first used by Shakespeare by defining the two words.

mor·tal /ˈmôrtl/ adjective (of a living human being, often in contrast to a divine being) subject to death. “all men are mortal” synonyms: perishable, physical, bodily, corporeal, fleshly, earthly, this-worldly; More human, impermanent, transient, ephemeral causing or liable to cause death; fatal. “a mortal disease” synonyms: deadly, fatal, lethal, death-dealing, murderous, terminal “a mortal blow” (of a battle) fought to the death. “from the outbuildings came the screams of men in mortal combat” synonyms: irreconcilable, deadly, sworn, bitter, out-and-out, implacable “mortal enemies”

coil – noun ˈkȯi(-ə)l 1: turmoil 2: trouble; also : everyday cares and worries <when we have shuffled off this mortal coil — Shakespeare> origin unknown First Known Use: 1567 2coil verb : to wind (something) into circles Full Definition of COIL transitive verb 1: to wind into rings or spirals <coil a rope> Examples of COIL The snake coiled around its prey.

I have always liked the phrase “mortal coil” because it seems to point to the flesh as both temporary and like the crushing coils of a serpent which would be considered “turmoil”.  It is my belief that the flesh is a prison used by our enemy to blind us into ignorance and hide from us the truth that lies underneath.  I do not believe that this flesh body was the LORD God’s original design. Our fall from grace landed us directly onto the trigger mechanism of the devil’s snare. What does a snare do?  It turns its prey Upside-down.

2Ti 2:26  And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Our enemy uses our flesh to blind us and bind us.  Our Creator uses it to protect us and perfect us.  The constant barrages of sensory from our temporary corporeal bodies affectively drowned out the more important eternal sensory pulses of our non-corporeal existence (sentience/consciousness).   This lack of knowledge and understanding of our spiritual self and the patterns that ensue from that lack of knowledge causes our spirits to become impotent and often times suffer from atrophy due to under stimulation.  Without the education and stimulation of this underlying essence (spirit) that we all have the flesh becomes dominant consuming all sensory and in truth suffocating the spirit within.   So one can see the parallel between the flesh crushing the spirit as a serpent crushes its prey.  I find it ironic that the book of Genesis uses the serpent as the deceiver that is the adversary in the story of Adam and Eve and causes their falling away from God.  There is a very redundant theme throughout the different stories in the Bible; stories about setting captives free.  From the Exodus of the Hebrews to the midnight song that shook the prison doors and freed Paul and Silas the Word is rich in the undertones of freedom from captivity.  It is also overrun with accounts of the blind given sight, scales falling off of eyes, and the Light of the world exposing the darkness and lighting the path across the great divide.

This writings intent is about taking away the enemy’s power over us.  It is about taking the flesh the devil intends to deceive us with back and giving it to the LORD God as a living sacrifice.  It is about speaking the truth of what is going on behind the scenes.  It is about giving away the devils high ground and exposing the lie that keeps us in the dark and makes his job easy.   However, there are not enough words I can write in my lifetime that can give anyone, including myself, true understanding of these things.  It is an understanding that comes from within.  It is an understanding that is only given through Holy Spirit which will always point to Jesus.  It is NOT my intention to scare anyone into a belief of anything; however, if you do find fear to be among your emotions during the conclusion of this piece of writing, I recommend you ask Christ to open your heart to truth and He will destroy those fears when He shares His full purpose with you.  If your heart is troubled and you earnestly ask for peace, He will not withhold.  In that understanding you will find freedom from fear, freedom from blindness, and freedom from darkness.  To understand that the flesh body that we now inhabit is not LORD God’s original design but a design that is needed to give us the perfect amount of time to mature in Christ and repent in heart to our situation before we are released into the realm of the real through death where there is an unnumbered amount of vile entities bent on our destruction and consumption.  During this mortal coil, they are but “demons on a leash”.  The rules of engagement set by the LORD God restrict the demons access to us, but to walk through the gates of death without the free gift of Salvation is to be thrown into the lion’s den without the LORD God on your side.  Imagine an infant child fresh out of the womb and thrown to a pack of starving wolves.  That is the parable of death without Salvation through Christ.  There is no amount of knowledge, no amount of disbelief, and no amount of physical strength that can be carried through the gates of death that can save you from being devoured into a digestion of dark consciousness where the manifestations of torture are too vile to understand with a mortal mind.  Only a connection to Christ Jesus has the power to free us from the conditions of this curse we are born into.   It is that connection with our Savoir I wish to share with all who read these words.  It is that connection alone that will save us all.  Christ is that one path back to The Father, that Inconceivable One that is our only shelter from the harsh realities that lie under the veil of flesh as we shuffle off this mortal coil.  I hope that you will see the perfect plan of an all-powerful Sovereign Savior Who pours His Love over all of creation without measure and Whose redeeming power is unmatched in eternity.  When I look through the lenses of my Savior I see the feeble attempt of the darkness to overthrow the Throne of the LORD God and I smile with a tear in my eye and a peace in my center and think to myself, what a ruse.  As beautiful as this world can be, it is but a cheap carbon copy of the original.  We were born into darkness and with crusty eyes and a squinting glare we awake from a deep sleep to realize that the wool has been pulled over our eyes.  Be free and slumber no more.

May the Grace of God, the Love of Christ, and the fellowship of The Holy Spirit be with you all!
